Realizing the dire need of extending assessment and
counseling services to the war on terror affected people, IDPs,
refugees, and general population in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, in February 2010, the
Department decided to open an Assessment and Counseling Clinic (ACC).
The ACC will be headed and managed by Prof. Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.
The ACC
utilizes resources available in Psychological Testing Section of the
Department and provides assessment and counseling services in
educational, career, trauma, and other matters to the war affected
people, students and
teaching communities, and general population. It accepts referrals
from Psychology Clinic of the Department, and other mental health and
educational institutions. It also plans to extend its services to
disaster stricken people locally and in other areas and seeks funds
from different sources to reach out to the affected people. The clinic's
committee is responsible for the fee structure for members of the general
population. IDPs will, however, be treated free of cost.
The ACC
will begin with its Diploma and Certificate courses from next semester.
CLINIC’S HOURS
The Clinic remains open
from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for scheduled
appointments. Clients are entertained as per Clinic’s policy. The
Clinic may remain open in other timings (TBD later) for services,
certificate courses, and trainings.
