Call for Papers for the Second and Third Issues

Khyber Behavioural Studies (KBS) is a newly launched annual research journal from the Department of Psychology, University of Peshawar, N-WFP, Pakistan. The journal has got its ISSN # 2075-6933 and is Indexed on Ulrich’s Periodical Directory. It will be Abstracted on PsycINFO with the APA.

The journal invites papers in the disciplines of Psychology, Psychiatry, Sociology, Social Work, Anthropology, Political Science, Economics, Journalism, Education, IR, Management and other behavioural sciences focusing on human behaviour and interaction. Scholars, practitioners, and Graduate students are requested to submit their papers in accordance with the American Psychological Association’s (6th) Publication Manual’s Format. Manuscripts not adhering to APA’s format will not be considered. APA’s papers writing style may be retrieved from APA’s website http://www.apa.org/journals/authors/all-instructions.html KBS prefers empirical studies but other forms of relevant research papers, involving some aspect of human behaviour, are also welcomed.

The maximum length of the paper should not be more than 20-pages (double spaced, Font: Times New Roman, Size: 12).  The author/s should provide information like name, institutional affiliation, correspondence address, e-mail address, phone and fax number on the title page. Since the journal follows the policy of blind review, no such information should be provided on the rest of the pages. Only the title should be repeated on the second page. The abstract of the paper should be given after the title on the second page and should be around 120 words. Tables and Figures should be inserted on appropriate places in the manuscript. It is advised that the number of tables and figures should be limited 5. About 4-5 keywords should be added just below the Abstract. References should be provided for citations made in the text only.

The author/s are responsible to send papers that are original and not published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The author/s must acknowledge help provided by other scholars and should take permission for tables or figures and long texts quoted from elsewhere. The author should provide such information in the covering letter and where appropriate in the paper. Where research is conducted on human subjects, the Method section should include if informed consent was obtained from the subjects. In addition to this all APA’s ethical standards must be followed. Preferably a statement of permission to publish the paper should be submitted to the editor in the covering letter duly signed by all authors. The editor or publisher will not be legally responsible for any claims or compensation with regard such permissions or any copyrights violations made by the authors as we adhere strictly to Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission’s plagiarism policy.

There will be a 2 step editorial process. First the paper will be assessed for its originality, form, and content by the editor, and local editorial assistants and if found fit for further evaluation, will be sent preferably to international editors for evaluation. The principal author will be informed of any decision/comments/suggestion.

           KBS will need 2 fairly printed hard copies and a soft copy (on a CD) in Microsoft Word format to be submitted on the following address:
